Mumm Napa Winery is hosting a lecture series presented by the four women photographers currently on exhibit at Mumm Napa. The lectures will focus on their unique photographic techniques, evolution and inspiration for their work. Susan Friedman and Brigitte Carnochan will speak on February 16th at 5:30 p.m. They will also be available from 11:00 – 3:00 in the gallery during the day prior to the lecture. The lectures are open to the public. RSVP to 707-967-7740 to attend.
Susan Friedman will speak about her series “Cheval Blanc” and how her life-long passion for horses has led her to be a sought after equine photographer who travels the globe to create strong and moving portraits of world-class thoroughbreds.
Brigitte Carnochan will speak about her “Bella Figura’ series, the silver gelatin prints of fruits and flowers that are then carefully hand-painted, lifting these images to a new and even more mysterious and elegant level. Carnochan has been referred to as “one of the most sensual contemporary photographers and today’s leading master at the hand-coloring of photographs”
